This morning Powerline, Captain’s Quarters, and Dick Morris chime in with basically the same opinion. It is appearing that Romney’s tack to the right is not succeeding.

There are all sorts of interesting implications here. Informally, a bunch of conservative groups and individuals like the Concerned Women and Grover Norquist appear to be lining up with Romney.

Now the scrutiny will begin for Newt. And Brownback will try to play mop-up with the religious conservatives…. Just not seeing it.

Interestingly, none of the blogs above actually disagreed with the proposition that McCain is a conservative. They just said that people don’t trust him. McCain may be finding space on the right by default as other candidates wait it out.

I don’t see Tommy Thompson anywhere on your blog. His entry would completely change the field starting with pro-lifers. Brownback can’t even hold a candle to what Tommy has done for the pro-life movement. Add that to his Harley-Davidson riding appeal to blue collar America, and Rs might be back to Reagan-like appeal.

Well, Tommy still has a little work to do in creating action. I would also be fascinated to hear him discuss his position on life.

Tommy does to a Harley what Kerry does to a wind surfer. He looks like a total fake on one.

Tommy is a Northerner and the GOP is a Southern party.

Tommy has a DUI on his record.
