Brownback really whacks him:

Mitt Romney is a good man. But there are many differences between us on the issues. I am for a three state political solution in Iraq. He is not. I am pro-life. He is not. I am opposed to gun control. He has not been. I am for a flat tax. He is not

Recall that Romney had actually taken out an ad in 1996 against Forbes’ flat tax proposal.

Romney isn’t opposed to the flat tax, it’s just not his plan. Get your facts straight.

Romney opposed it in 1996. He even took out ads in the New Hampshire and Iowa papers:

My facts are straight. You are the problem.

Or perhaps he flip-flopped on this too?

My post was in the present tense, and you’re blathering about 1996. You’re not a very careful reader. You’re a liar and you misrepresent the facts.

Here’s Romney’s April 2007 objection to the flat tax:

Of course, that gives you no indication of where he is

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said he would like to overhaul some elements of the federal tax system if he reaches the White House, but he ruled out support for the flat tax.

You are both right.

He is for it and he is against it.

He can’t lose!
