Whether the issue is running for the presidency or taking over the Winter Olympics, "I weigh in so heavily, and he listens to my advice probably more than anyone else’s," Ann agrees. "We never sort of go off on our own, either one of us, without feeling like we’re going together on whatever journey that we’re on."
Mitt Romney says:
"her positions are not particularly relevant to my campaign."
At least one of these is not true. I wonder if any reporters will have the courage to ask Romney which one of them is not telling the truth.
UPDATE: Hotline agrees that with me, and points out the ridiculousness of this fawning article. Ann Romney saying that Mitt has only changed his position once (on "choice", not "life", no less) is a little shocking. These guys have no shame.
UPDATE: Jonathan Martin thinks they look a little foolish too. And he even talked about the internal contradictions about abortion.

Last I checked, Ann Romney is not running for office.
However, Rudy stated that his wife could sit in on any cabinet meeting of her choice. He quickly recanted on that gaffe. In that example, I can see this argument holding water.
Regardless, there is a long history of Republican President’s wives being against what their husbands are for.
Are the author’s of this site aware of some of the differing opinions Barbara & Laura Bush have with their husbands. How about Nancy Reagan & her pleas for expanded stem cell research at a dinner not too far back which contradicts the anti abortion rights movement & their regard that harvesting stem cells amounts to abortion?
Is this relevant? I don’t think so. They are not running for office or making policy in that regard. Would they be liars if any of them stated that they confided & trusted their spouse more than anything? I guess they’d have to be liars according the wrapped logic I’ve read on this site.
This site is too anti-Romney. I don’t mind fair criticism of him. I just don’t see it on this site.

Ann Romney says she is an advisor
Mitt Romney says she is not
One of them is lying.
You are too blinded by your mancrush to notice.

I guess that the other point is that if Ann Romney is a liar, she can’t be a character witness. You can’t have it both ways.

All spouses are advisers to each other.
You are twisting two statements out of context so you can call one or both of them “liars.”
Any fool can see the agenda here.

This website is ridiculous about twisting statements and putting words into people’s mouths. There just isn’t much truth to find at eyeon08.com.

a man says his wife’s opinions don’t matter and that doesn’t bother you? Then he says they do.
This guy is a compulsive liar.
Where do you people come from? How do you look at yourselves in the morning defending someone with such an empty character?
davidneville7 · May 23, 2007 at 12:43 AM
It is easy to see how both statements are true. The Romney’s (much like other successfully married people) naturally consult with each other on many issues, probably even campaign ones (SHOCK?). She is smart and savvy too. She started faith based initiatives in Boston with a government grant in one of the successul pilot programs. He helped to grant insurance to everybody in a small state as a practicality exercise for large scale implications. To consult a spouse in most matters helps the relationship to grow. Both statements are true and valid.

This blog is such a blatent McCain shill it has absolutely no credibility. Why not call it “romneysucks.com” This is a giant oppo dump against the other candidates you consider a threat to McCain. Currently that candidate is clearly Mitt Romney, soon I suspect your crosshairs will be trained on Fred Thompson once he enters the race. You have previously attacked Giuliani to no avail. I used to enjoy reading this site as another way to stay up on the 08 race. But just like the McCain campaign, I believe this blog has already reached its peak and is now beginning the long bear market decline into oblivion.

You have coluded two statements taken out of context to appear negatively. Mitt Romney was speaking about policy issues. Ann Romney was speaking about character judgements. Mitt has said repeatedly that Ann Romney is his greatest advisor when it comes to character. Her political opinions do not need to be identical to her husband and are no relevant. Obviously when you pulled these quotes you new they were unrelated. Kind;ve pitiful if you have to lie to make a still pitiful argument.

Spin away, Romneybots, spin away.
It must really suck to have to constantly go out and explain away the latest gaffes Mitt utters.

Soren recruits his girlfriend Rachel to shill for McCain, isn’t that cute.

“Where do you people come from? How do you look at yourselves in the morning defending someone with such an empty character?”
Being portuguese, and no more than an interested observer, i find all of this quite puzzling. The support Romney is still getting says a lot of what american conservatism has became.
What would Russell Kirk think about this?
Rachel · May 23, 2007 at 11:53 PM
LOL.
I am no shill for McCain. He lost me with the immigration fiasco.
I’m waiting for Thompson. I know the Romneybots are dreading that day!

She’s also not my girlfriend…
