Actually equal rights for gays in 94 did not mean gay marriage. Romney said in 94 he was against gay marriage and civil unions. Equal rights then meant no discrimination on the work place and things of that nature. Sorry, you don’t understand what context is.

what exactly do “equal rights” for gays mean if not those afforded to married couples? what other rights are gays denied? i can’t think of any, can you? remember, this is massachusetts we’re talking about (btw – 45 to 151. pop the cork, mary!). again, even if he’s against gay marriage, isn’t distributing a flyer like this a tad, what’s the word… DISHONEST?

You make it sound like Romney never has acknowedged his past position on abortion.

No one is denying what he said in the videos, they are saying as governor Romney fought for life…which he did.

if what you’re saying is correct, jbonham, gubernatorial candidate romney said one thing, but then governor romney said something completely different – specifically, romney the candidate was pro-abortion, then governor romney wasn’t [is this even true?]. but let’s not forget, gubernatorial candidate romney and governor romney are the same person, just at different points in time.

so if his spokesman isn’t lying, then romney is the liar. sure, you can split hairs about terms like “governor” romney vs. “not-yet-govnernor romney”, but this is just plain shady any way you slice it.

abortion is not a big issue to me, so i really don’t care what the candidates think about the issue, but i do care about honesty and integrity. romney possesses neither of those traits.

With all do respect to what is an otherwise good site, both your videos were statements prior to being governor. Madden says “Governor Romney.”

What you have said is like saying “Chevy lies when they say they had a great engine in there 99 suburban, because hey, look at the 98- it sucks.”

No one lied here, except McCain’s team which deliberately cut out the part of the video that contradicts their spin.
